Where to Snack during EAST

keith kreeger

The East Austin Studio Tour is definitely going to take some energy so it's going to be super-important to fuel up for the day.  Here's our suggestions from start to finish–

Veracruz All Natural- The original trailer on Cesar Chavez is the best Migas Breakfast Taco in Austin.  I take every single visitor we have there for breakfast at least once during their trip.  Order the Migas Taco on corn and any smoothie or juice that you want to go along with it.  Bring us some tacos if you go!

Paperboy Austin- This trailer on East 11th is a solid choice to start the day.  Sandwiches, bowls sweet toast...can't go wrong.  My choice, the B.E.C which has Bacon, Sunny Egg, Pimento Cheese and is served on Brioche.

Flitch Coffee- My go-to on the way to the studio during the week.  It's a trailer on Tillery that shares a parking lot with Hatch Woodworking and Harvest Reclaimed Lumber.  I'm starting my day with a

Brew and Brew- If you're crossing I-35 to get here, then this is your stop.  It's on 5th just east of the highway.  Great coffee...great space...great location....and some breakfast items.

Sa-Ten:  Forgot to stop before coming to our studio?  No worries...our friends at Canopy have got your back.  This cozy shop across the patio from us is open all day and will be serving up specials for EAST.

Lunch / Dinner:

Justine's:  You have to go for a few reasons.  Justine's is always delicious.  It is always fun.  It is only open during the day because of EAST.  You cannot get brunch here any other time.  End of story.

Salt & Time: Grab a sandwich at this butcher shop and restaurant that works directly with Texas Ranchers.  They are serious about what they do and it's delicious.

Launderette: Love this spot day or night.  Great place to get a bunch of plates and share with friends.  Beautifully designed, super casual hang...make sure you get the burger to share.

Dai Due: Another East Austin gem that sources their produce and meats only from Central Texas.  They start serving brunch at 10:30 and serve straight through to dinner.

Treats Along the Way:

Gelateria Gemelli: It may be a bit warm again this weekend, so drop by and get a cone or a dish and put a smile on the face of everyone with you.  Want to upgrade?  They have a huge amaro selection so grab a drink...Negroni anyone?  Plus, as an EAST Pit Stop 10% of sales next weekend benefits Big Medium.

Hops & Grain Brewing: Hops & Grain is an award winning craft Brewery in Austin, Texas. Passion for crafting great beer in an environmentally responsible manner.  They're an official EAST Pit Stop as well.  10% of your beer goes to support Big Medium.

Maggie Louise Confections: We all know chocolate is delicious, but this shop is full of absolutely stunningly beautiful chocolate.  Grab a sampler box and snack along the way.  Another EAST Pit Stop so enjoy the sweets knowing you're supporting Big Medium.
